Health and Safety

The following is extracted from Excite’s Health & Safety Policy.

PART ONE
1.0 STATEMENT OF INTENT

1.1 I and the Board of Directors of Xeyet Limited do recognise and fully accept the responsibilities to our employees and other persons, so far as is reasonably practicable, whose health and safety may be effected by the company’s acts or omissions.

1.2 The promotion of health and safety measures is a prime and mutual objective for the company and its employees at all levels.

1.3 This Health and Safety Policy, along with the Organisation and Arrangements will be communicated to all divisions of the company and will be implemented through the managerial structure.

1.4 The effectiveness of this policy and the health and safety performance of the company will be monitored through regular inspections and audits.

2.0 GENERAL POLICY
It is the policy of the company to:

2.1 So far as is reasonably practicable provide a safe and healthy working environment, for its employees whilst at work, and others who may be effected by its acts or omissions.

2.2 Provide and maintain safe working plant, machinery and safe systems of work which are, so far as is reasonably practicable, safe and without risk to health.

2.3 Ensure that as far as is reasonably practicable all risks are eliminated when handling, storing and transporting articles and substances.

2.4 Provide suitable and sufficient information, instruction, training and supervision to ensure the health and safety at work of its employees.

2.5 Maintain in a condition that is without risk, any workplace under managerial control, and in doing so ensure suitable and sufficient means of access and egress to and from such workplaces that are, so far as is reasonably practicable, safe and without risk to health.

2.6 Provide and maintain a working environment with facilities and welfare arrangements that are clean, safe and without any risk to health.

2.7 Establish, maintain and develop arrangements for effective consultation with staff on health and safety.

2.8 Ensure that the responsibilities of management are clearly assigned at all levels and their rolls are clearly defined.

2.9 Ensure that all contractors employed in connection with the company’s business are competent with respect to all necessary health and safety requirements.

2.10 Ensure that all employees are aware they are required to work safely and to co-operate with managers in all matters that affect their health and safety.

2.11 Ensure a systematic health and safety management plan will be implemented by;

PLANNING: Elimination of risks in the workplace by the careful selection and design of facilities, equipment and processes in conjunction with effective control measures.

ORGANISATION: A review of company organisation, including organisational changes to ensure that responsibilities to health and safety are clearly defined at all times to employees.

CONTROL: Ensure that all employees are implementing health and safety requirements throughout the company.

MONITORING & REVIEW: Safety audits and inspections will be regularly conducted to monitor all safety requirements and risk assessments, in order to achieve the highest possible standards.

2.12 Make available suitable and sufficient first aid facilities, record and monitor accidents and take steps to reduce accidents of all natures.

3.0 ORGANISATION and ARRANGEMENTS

3.1 The organisation and arrangements used to implement this policy are set out in Part Two and Part Three of this document.

3.2 The objective of those sections is to advise employees at all levels of their responsibilities and safe conditions designed to comply with the above statement.

4.0 AMENDMENTS

4.1 This policy is a ‘working’ document and may be subject to amendment without notice to allow due consideration for, company reorganisation, management change or change in legislation, working practices and the working environment.
